Alicia had to go through the FilmStruck service. FilmStruck is a TCM online streaming service in 2015. Malone recorded Robert Osborne's and Ben Mankiewicz's intros, and then listen to them in front of cameras ahead of her TCM broadcasting channel audition for hosting. After appearing in an interview in the race for a Turner Classic Movies host position in 2017, the channel gave her the job after the audition. Malone addressed the issues confronted by women in films in two distinct TEDx sessions.
