Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian German film and TV actress popular for her work in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. She began her show business career as a child. She was a lead actress in dramas on television as young when she was just 16. Her highly acclaimed performance on the film for television that she made Der Tunnel paved way for some other memorable roles such as that as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge. The role was in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated historic war drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated movies featuring this diva. Over the years Alexandra has been involved in a variety of noteworthy national and international projects. The projects she worked on include her work on the British biographical film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time as well as French historical Miniseries Napoleon. Furthermore, she was one of the members of both Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
